Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.
In a large bowl, mix together the butternut squash, brown sugar, oil, vanilla and egg.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and salt.
Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Stir in the milk.
Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
