This cajun barbecued chicken recipe is a perfect blend of smoky barbecue flavors and spicy Cajun seasonings. The chicken is marinated in a zesty mixture of spices, herbs, and BBQ sauce, then grilled to perfection. It's the ultimate dish for a summer cookout or backyard BBQ.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together BBQ sauce, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add olive oil to the marinade and stir to combine.
  3. Place chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure it is well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade and place on the grill, skin side down.
  5. Grill chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
