Ingredients
- 1/2 pound bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound spaghetti
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy, about 8 minutes. Remove bacon from skillet and set aside.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, basil, sugar, and bacon. Simmer for 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes.
- Drain spaghetti and return to pot. Add tomato sauce and toss to coat. Serve hot.
