Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups day-old bread cubes
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together butter, sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Add bread cubes and stir until evenly coated. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in bourbon and raisins. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool before serving.
