In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk and the vegetable oil. Whisk until combined.
Working one piece at a time, dip each piece of chicken into the buttermilk mixture, followed by the flour mixture. Make sure the chicken is evenly coated in the flour.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces. Fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping once, until the chicken is golden-brown and crispy.
