Ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs. beef bones
  • 2 carrots, roughly chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, roughly chopped
  • 1 onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Water, enough to cover the ingredients in the slow cooker

Directions

  1. Place the beef bones in the slow cooker.
  2. Add the carrots, celery, onion, garlic, apple cider vinegar, bay leaves, black peppercorns, and thyme.
  3. Pour enough water to cover the ingredients.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  5. Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve and discard the solids.
  6. Store the broth in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
