- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 ounces spaghetti, broken in half
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
Directions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring, until the beef is cooked through, about 5 minutes.
- Add the onion, Italian seasoning, and garlic, and cook until the onion is softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water, and bring to a boil.
- Add the spaghetti and stir to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the spaghetti is cooked through, about 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top and continue to cook until the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes.
- Garnish with Parmesan cheese and serve.
