Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup raisins
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Stir the milk mixture into the dry ingredients until everything is well blended.
- Stir in the raisins.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
