Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups cubed paneer (Indian cheese)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Directions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the ginger, cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add the tomatoes and cream and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the water, paneer and salt. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Stir in the cilantro and remove from the heat.
- Serve with basmati rice and naan.
