Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 cups okra, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh coconut, grated
  • 2 tablespoons curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the mustard and cumin seeds and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add the chopped green chillies and turmeric powder and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add the okra and salt and stir fry for 3 minutes.
  4. Add the grated coconut, curry leaves and coconut milk and mix well.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice or chapati.
