Ingredients
- 6 medium apples
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Toppings of your choice (chopped nuts, chocolate chips, coconut, etc.)
Directions
- Wash and dry the apples, then insert a wooden stick into the stem end of each apple.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the corn syrup, sugar, salt, and cream. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Dip each apple into the caramel sauce and roll it around to coat. Place the apples on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper.
- Sprinkle each apple with desired toppings.
- Let the apples cool completely before serving.
