Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the butter cubes and, using a pastry blender or your fingers, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the vanilla and almond extract.
- Knead the dough until it comes together. Divide the dough in half.
- Roll each half of the dough into a log about 1 1/2 inches (4 cm) in diameter.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick slices. Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
