1 sheet puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 egg, beaten
Cranberry sauce, for serving (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Unfold puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Roll out to a 12x12-inch square.
In a medium bowl, mix together spinach, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Spread spinach mixture onto puff pastry sheet, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
Cut puff pastry into a Christmas tree shape. Start by cutting a triangle in the center of the puff pastry. Cut two 2-inch wide strips from the top of the triangle, and two strips from the bottom of the triangle. Cut two 3-inch strips from the center of the triangle. Make sure to leave a 1-inch border on all sides.
Fold the strips up, alternating between top and bottom, to create a tree shape. Gently press the strips together to seal.
Brush the puff pastry with beaten egg. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
Let cool before serving. Serve with cranberry sauce, if desired.
