Ingredients

  • 1 package pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced red bell pepper and onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough into four 8-inch circles.
  5. Divide the cooked vegetables and shredded cheese evenly among the four circles, placing them in the center of each circle.
  6. Fold the dough in half, making sure the edges are sealed. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
  7. Transfer the calzones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown. Serve immediately.
