Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons rose water
  • 1/2 cup dried rose petals, plus extra for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the rose water. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  4. Gently stir in the rose petals. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls, and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets.
