Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Red Hots candy
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in Red Hots candy. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Flatten slightly with the palm of your hand.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden brown. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
