Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract until well blended.
Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Allow to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
