Ingredients

  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef steak
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef steak to the skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the green bell pepper and onion. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and minced garlic to make the garlic mayo.
  5. Split the hoagie rolls and spread a generous amount of garlic mayo on the inside of each roll.

  8. Top the beef steak with the cooked green bell pepper and onion mixture.
  9. Close the sandwiches and press down gently.
  10. Heat the skillet over medium-low heat and place the sandwiches in the skillet.
  11. Cook until the rolls are crispy and the cheese has melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  12. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and serve hot.
