Ingredients

  • 2 lbs razor clams, cleaned
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix together the panko bread crumbs, flour, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and water.
  3. Dip each clam into the egg mixture and then into the panko bread crumb mixture, making sure to coat each clam completely.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F.
  5. Carefully place each clam into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
