Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9 inch round cake pan.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the butter-sugar mixture until thoroughly combined. Gently fold in the blueberries.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
In a medium bowl, whip cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form. Spread over cooled cake.
