Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28-oz.) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (6-oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft and translucent.
- Stir in the garlic, and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the red wine and heavy cream, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve over your favorite pasta.
