Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra spice)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, black beans, and diced green chilies. Add the chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
