- 1-2 pound round steak
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons diced onion
- 2 tablespoons diced celery
- 2 tablespoons diced carrots
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Directions
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.
- Sprinkle the steak with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and paprika.
- Add the steak to the skillet and brown on both sides for about 2 minutes per side.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the flour to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, onion, celery, carrots, thyme, and oregano to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Return the steak to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
