Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup hazelnuts, toasted and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and have released their liquid, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in hazelnuts, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add wine and lemon juice and cook until liquid is nearly evaporated, about 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter and cream cheese until combined.
  6. Transfer to a food processor and process until smooth and creamy.
  7. Serve with crackers or toast points.
