Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) pie plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, butter, and sugar until a crumbly mixture forms.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie plate.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the prebaked crust.
  7. Sprinkle the cherries over the top. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the center is set.
