Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup currants
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup candied orange peel
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink.
  2. Stir in the raisins, currants, golden raisins, apricots, dates, cranberries, and orange peel.
  3. Stir in the walnuts, brown sugar, brandy, white sugar, molasses, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and nutmeg.
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from the heat and let cool.
  6. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
