Ingredients

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup honey

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside to proof.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, milk, butter, eggs, salt, and 2 cups of the flour. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
  3. Add proofed yeast and remaining flour and beat until smooth.
  4. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch dough down and turn onto a lightly floured surface. Roll dough into a 12x18-inch rectangle.
  6. Sprinkle with nuts and brown sugar. Drizzle with melted butter and honey. Roll up jelly-roll style and pinch edges to seal.
  7. Cut into 12 slices and place in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  8. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
