Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, maple syrup, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and buttermilk.
  5. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
