Ingredients

  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons licorice extract

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the corn syrup, sugars, butter, condensed milk, molasses, and vanilla.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 250 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the licorice extract.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  5. Let cool for at least an hour before cutting into 1-inch squares.
  6. Wrap each square in wax paper.
