Ingredients

  • 2 kohlrabi bulbs, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the kohlrabi cubes and cook until just tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until combined. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly until the sauce is thick and creamy. Stir in the garlic powder, oregano, and pepper.
  4. Add the Parmesan cheese and whisk until melted. Add the cooked kohlrabi cubes and stir until combined.
  5. Serve the kohlrabi with white sauce over cooked rice or pasta.
