Ingredients

  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb scallops
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the penne. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add the tomatoes, white wine, shrimp, and scallops. Cook for 5 minutes or until the shrimp and scallops are cooked through.
  4. Add the cooked penne to the skillet and toss to combine. Add the basil and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  5. Serve hot.
