Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef steak
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the beef and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until the beef is browned, about 10 minutes. Add the Worcestershire sauce and cook for another 5 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  3. Split the hoagie rolls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Top each roll with a slice of cheese, then a portion of the beef mixture. Top with another slice of cheese.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10 minutes.
  5. Serve the sandwiches on the hoagie rolls.
