Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the pork and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, ginger, garlic powder, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  4. Pour the sauce over the pork and reduce heat to medium-low.
  5. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the pork is fully cooked, about 10 minutes.
