Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted butter, melted
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in buttermilk and vanilla.
  6. Gradually stir in dry ingredients until just blended.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
