Instant Pot Stew Using Frozen Meat

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen stew meat
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Directions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to the sauté setting.
  2. Add the stew meat and onion and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.
  4. Secure the lid onto the Instant Pot and make sure the valve is set to sealing.
  5. Set the Instant Pot to manual high pressure for 30 minutes.
  6. When the cooking time is done, do a quick release by carefully turning the valve to the venting position. Be sure to avoid the steam.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until combined.
  8. Add the cornstarch mixture to the Instant Pot and stir to combine.
  9. Set the Instant Pot to sauté and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  10. Serve the stew warm with your favorite sides.
