Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, hot coffee, vegetable oil, sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
