  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate candy pieces (such as Reese's)
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
