Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 quart ice cream, softened
  • Toppings of your choice (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together cake mix, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla extract.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cake cool completely.
  7. Spread softened ice cream over cooled cake and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  8. Garnish with toppings of your choice (optional) and serve.
