Ingredients
- 1/4 pound bacon, diced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (16-ounce) package frozen peas
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- Add the butter to the skillet and melt. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the flour and stir to combine. Slowly add the chicken broth, stirring constantly until smooth. Add the cream and seasonings and bring to a simmer.
- Add the peas and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes. Add the bacon back to the pan and stir to combine.
- Serve hot.
