Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1 cup cooked black beans, mashed
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Toppings of your choice: lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, cheese, etc.

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked quinoa, mashed black beans, grated carrot, chopped mushrooms, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, bread crumbs, chopped fresh parsley, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Use your hands if needed to incorporate all the ingredients evenly.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  4. Preheat a grill or a frying pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent the patties from sticking.
  5. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and heated through.
  6. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster if desired.
