Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, oregano, or basil)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, herbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Transfer the butter mixture to a piece of parchment paper or wax paper. Roll the butter mixture into a log shape, about 2 inches in diameter.
  3. Refrigerate the log for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to allow the flavors to blend.
  4. To serve, slice the log into 1/2-inch slices and serve at room temperature.
