Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 inch (23 cm) round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, butter, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Fold in the raisins.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
