Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tablespoons harissa paste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon tahini

Directions

  1. In a food processor, add the chickpeas, harissa paste, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, and salt and pepper. Process until smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning, if necessary.
  3. Add the tahini (if using) and pulse a few times to combine.
  4. Serve with pita bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks.
