Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground pork
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 6-8 pita breads
- 1 cup of tzatziki sauce
- 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup of diced red onion
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork with the garlic powder, oregano, cumin, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix together until the spices are evenly distributed.
- Form the pork mixture into 6-8 patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until the patties are cooked through.
- Warm the pita breads in the oven for a few minutes.
- To assemble the gyros, place a patty in each pita bread and top with tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and red onion.
