Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the oil and warm water.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour.
  5. Punch down the dough, and knead on a floured surface for a few minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into two equal pieces, and shape into loaves.
  7. Place the loaves into two greased 9x5 inch loaf pans.
  8. Let the loaves rise for another hour, or until doubled in size.
  9. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  10. Bake the loaves for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
