Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup grated onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the beef, bread crumbs, milk, onion, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and brown on all sides, about 8 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the meatballs and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add the beef broth and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles, with a side of lingonberries.
