Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Form the beef into four equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a separate skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and onion slices. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized.
  5. Toast the buns in a toaster or in the skillet for 1-2 minutes. Place the cooked patties on the bottom buns, top with a slice of Swiss cheese, and top with the caramelized onions.
  6. Place the remaining buns on top and serve.
