Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1 cup of evaporated milk
- 1 1/4 cups of sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 1/3 cups of flaked coconut
- 1 cup of chopped pecans
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter and stir in evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, and salt.
- Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in coconut and pecans.
- Cool to lukewarm before spreading on cake.
