Interesting Facts
German chocolate cake frosting was invented in 1852 by a German-American baker named Sam German.
It was originally called "Baker's German Sweet Chocolate", and was sold as a baking chocolate.
The frosting was originally used to fill and top cakes, but is now more commonly used as a topping.
