Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  4. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
