Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square pan.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in flour and salt until blended. Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool before cutting into squares.
