Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in flour and salt until blended. Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool before cutting into squares.
